What is the CloudB Platform?

The CloudB Platform is an Online Cloud Productivity Suite designed to give everyone the tools they need to manage most things in life without having to give your data away to third parties who seek to hoard it, monetize it or sell you to the highest bidder.

CloudB is part of a Federation of Networks who aim to co-exist with other providers and decouple your data from the larger providers who are constantly abusing it, leaking it or selling it – we are putting you back in control over costs, your data and your time but without the complexity associated with managing it yourself.

Our technology stacks are based on the same open standards and technologies you already know and we aim not to re-invent the wheel. We are user focused, customer obsessed and vendor agnostic. We try and integrate with all the most common providers you already know and love and don’t expect you to change habbits over night.

How does it work?

With CloudB, you have multiple choices.

  1. Join CloudB’s Platform and experience what it’s all about.

  2. Purchase your own Federated cloud and host it Online your own domain

  3. Install it at home or on premises with your own hardware

What is the Public Cloud?

The Public Cloud is CloudB’s own managed installation of the cloud platform running on our domain at https://cloud.cloudb.host.

The public cloud is a General Purpose Cloud and Social Platform that provides the easiest route for getting started with CloudB. We include the best curated apps and organize things to enhance every day productivity.

What is a Federated Cloud?

The Federated Cloud is another Public or Private Cloud Platform that adopts the same Standards. These disparate and decentralized networks can come in many forms and are able to form relationships with each other based on mutual trust or common interest.

Data is never shared outside of any individual Federated Network and you keep total control. The main appeal is that you get to decide how the platform runs, who can be a member and what features are available, what networks you are a part of, if any.

No matter if your Federated Network is Public or Private – for it’s members, all the functionality is easily available but tightly secured and highly available. You can run your Federated cloud on CloudB’s infrastructure or with any other Online Vendor that we integrate with such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute, IBM Cloud, Linode, DigitalOcean, CloudA, Scaleway… and the list is growing.

What is a Private Cloud?

A Private Cloud is again the same as the Public and Federated versions but it is run either behind a Private Network (not accessible on the internet) or on Premises (in your home, your business, another data center) or Accessible only over VPN.

This kind of setup is usually required when Privacy is necessary or strongly desired, Total Control or a custom setup is required or for Government, Financial or other Compliance reasons.
